Hi! Hello! It's Me, Sarah.
Over 15 Years of Education Experience
Hi, I'm Sarah, Founder of The Process Art & Soul Studio.
I am a Lower Hutt native & have been a primary school teacher for
15 years, having taught in New Zealand, Melbourne and London.
As a teacher I have had the pleasure of getting to know hundreds of students and their families.
As part of the nurturing relationship of a teacher, I have seen the increasing need of support for children and parents alike who have anxiety and stress responses in their life.
Post Graduate Diploma in Arts Therapy
Upon taking a step back from full time teacher in 2016, I searched for options in support of my own self care. Doctors, Therapists, Life Coaches, I explored them all - only to still feel unfulfilled.
So I invested in further study through Whitecliffe of College Art and Design to complete my Post Graduate Diploma in Arts Therapy.
Arts Therapy is a form of psychotherapy in which the creative process is involved in expressing one’s self artistically. This can help people to reflect and resolve issues as well as develop and manage their behaviors and feelings, reduce stress, and improve self-esteem and awareness.
In the fast paced world we all live in, I knew there had to be a form of communication or an outlet that could alleviate worries, fears and promote dreams to exist. Hence, The Process was born.
The Ensō Symbol
A sacred symbol in the Zen school of Buddhism, it is the most common subjects of Japanese calligraphy, yet funnily enough, it has no such character attached to it. The circle is a vast space, lacking nothing but also holding nothing.
It is the beginning of things as well as the end of things. It can symbolize Fullness or Emptiness.
Presence or Absence.
When viewing Ensō you see the form and void as interdependent - in fact, they define one another.
When it comes to life, you are the good and the bad, you are the ups and the downs. You cannot live life without the other, This exists to symbolize Balance.
